Remedial works are works required that have been flagged up as part of the EICR inspection. They can be categorised as Code 1 (danger present), Code 2 (potentially dangerous), Code 3 (improvement recommended) or FI (further investigation required). Any Code 1's or 2's or FI's will mean that the installation has failed the inspection and the required remedial work would need to be undertaken before an EICR Certificate can be issued. The codes are assigned by the IET.
Yes we do. In the event of an unsuccessful inspection, we will issue a 10 page report in which the defects will be listed and coded. We will explain in the simplest possible terms what they mean, why they need to be rectified and most importantly, how much it will cost. At this point we will issue a quote for us to rectify the issues. Upon our completion of the works, we will then issue an EICR Certificate. If you choose to use a third party to carry out the remedial works, they should provide the EICR Certificate upon completion. We wouldn't issue a Certificate based on someone else's work without carrying out a chargeable re-inspection.
Bare in mind that if you are a landlord and you have tenants in the property, you will legally have a maximum of 30 days to carry out any required remedial works following an EICR from the date of inspection.
Yes we can. If another company has issued a failed EICR report we can review it to firstly check that it is legitimate, and can advise you on moving forward. We can carry out any verified required remedial works and issue a passed EICR Certificate.
Remember, we have specialised solely in Electrical Safety Inspection, Rectification and Certification for over 30 years. This isn't a service we have 'added' as is the case with most companies out there.
