Around 50% of an EICR inspection is a visual check, to identify whether equipment such as consumer units are up to date with ever changing regulations and in safe working order. One of our senior inspectors will carry this out via video to advise you of any potential issues before you pay anything. Most companies will not do this as they want the fee from the EICR first, but we will be upfront from the start. This way we can discuss the best way to move forward before you spend any money.
Unfortunately not. 50% of an EICR inspection is carried out by our high end, fully calibrated testing equipment. This is used to gain readings from your circuits such as earth fault loop impedance (Zs), insulation resistance, RCD trip times, continuity etc etc. The readings gathered must be within parameters set by the IET. This is why only fully certified engineers may carry out an EICR.
We can however, tell you if the installation is going to fail an EICR inspection based upon what we can see, and this saves you the initial fee for the EICR. No other company offers this service.
